How One Remote Sales Rep Consistently Closes $296,000 per month Without Ever Meeting a Client


I'm always staring at Google Sheets, and this one metric caught my eye:  one of my remote sales reps has been closing $296,000 on average for the past 6 months. It's crazy how much one good hire can nearly carry the entire team. If you talk to her, you wouldn't find her demeanor that "salesy" She talks like a normal person. She's a mom. She's not super pushy. But she is the right person with the right system. Here are some key elements of why she is so successful on my team. In the education industry, I had my team in South America call schools throughout California, book appointments on zoom, lead a presentation about our service, send a proposal and then follow-up for the next few months until it was closed.  Follow-up was clean, mellow and never too pushy (but just enough). Within a few months, the sales rep was closing deals for $50k, $100k and even $500k+. And the cost is probably ⅓ of what a US-based sales rep would be. Another core belief I removed was that "You need in-person meetings with your sales team." Do you know how many in-person meetings I've had with this sales rep? 0. We meet weekly on zoom for the sales meeting and there is a daily huddle.  We roleplay, refine the process and do everything on zoom. I have met this person in real life, when we went to an Education conference in Palm Springs, CA.   At the booth, she was just as good on zoom: sincere, likeable and built trust quickly. Clients liked her, trusted her, and her deals got bigger and bigger every year. Another core belief that was shattered was "You can't have someone abroad speak with really good English and be trusted by US government staff." Again, this sales rep did exactly that. Her English was flawless, but she had never stepped foot in America. She understood all of the aspects of the Education industry from working with my team, even though she had never been in it before. She learned our processes, follow-up sequence and how to use the CRM to stay on top of everything. She did have a sales background, but had never closed a high 5-figure and later 6-figure deals. Fast-forward today and nearly EVERY week she's sharing something like "last week I closed $82,000 in new signed clients." It's all possible, if you build the right system.
