How my client generated $26,000 per month with one remote sales rep


There are a surprising number of businesses that don’t do enough outbound sales.

The owner is intimidated to hire someone and thinks it’ll cost too much or that it won’t generate enough sales.

One of my clients had a problem where she had a lot of customers, but no one was reaching out to them to remind them of the treatments they need to look and feel their best.

I approached her and said she could hire a full-time caller in the UK that would cost £5,000+ per month, or hire a remote person for about ⅓ of the cost.

Here’s what we did to make this happen:

We went through dozens of resumes and candidates until we found a strong caller with real sales experience. She was from the Philippines, had great English, and barely any accent. We trained her on how to talk to customers, wrote a script, and set her up with Pipedrive with a list of hundreds of clients who had treatments that had not been scheduled or paid for.

I like using Pipedrive, but you can use any sales software to track every call, email, and interaction. When a sale was made, we could track the validity of it using the software and other tools.

When you have a clinic with a lot of clients, the fastest way to grow is to reach out to them with products and services that will genuinely help them.

It took some fine-tuning, but here were a few things that helped us train her:

  • We asked for daily reports to show how many calls she made per day, how many patients she spoke with, and how many treatments were scheduled
  • We set up screen recording so we could check the quality of the calls
  • We initiated a quick daily live check-in with the Operations Manager of the clinic to troubleshoot anything that came up
  • There were small tweaks and updates to the script

Now the system runs smoothly.

What most people mess up is they just “hire someone” too quickly, without enough training and support, and then claim “remote sales reps don’t work.”

The key is to spend the time to craft the right job description, screen thoroughly, do reference checks, onboard correctly, and continue to support, train, and monitor your team.

Then a remote sales rep can make a lot of outbound calls to prospective or returning clients, you can build a sales team, and eventually have a lot of new sales WITHOUT you, the owner, picking up the phone.
